• YATES CITY – A Yates City man was arrested following a domestic dispute at his residence, where his alleged victim was cited for another crime.
A Knox County Sheriff’s Office deputy was dispatched about 8:30 p.m. June 25 to the 500 block of S. Dixon St. There he found Kathryn E. Pope, 40, of Farmington, who said 41-year-old Steven R. Murphy attacked her. Pope was visiting the residence to retrieve belongings.
Pope had red-purple marks on her arms, according to a sheriff’s-office report. Pope also admitted to pushing over Murphy’s 1999 Harley-Davidson motorcycle, which sustained damage to its headlight and right saddle bag.
Murphy was accused of domestic battery and transported to the Knox County Jail in Galesburg. Pope was released from custody after she received a citation for criminal damage to property.
• GALVA – A traffic stop in Galva resulted in an Oak Run man being cited for multiple vehicle violations.
Rayvone Taylor, 36, was accused of operating a vehicle with suspended registration, operating an uninsured vehicle and operating a vehicle with expired registration, according to the Galva Police Department.
An officer pulled over Taylor as he drove July 1 in the 1000 block of SE Second St.
• HANNA CITY – An apparent dispute between neighbors led to a Hanna City man’s arrest.
Richard O. Stahl Jr., 57, was taken into custody shortly after 9:15 p.m. June 30 in the 300 block of N. Lakeshore Drive, according to a heavily redacted Peoria County Sheriff’s Office report. The victim was a 51-year-old man.
Stahl was accused of battery and resisting or obstructing arrest and was transported to the Peoria County Jail.
• PRINCEVILLE – A vehicle apparently sideswiped another that was parked on a Princeville thoroughfare.
The incident along Main Street at West Street was reported shortly after 1:30 p.m. June 30. According to a Peoria County Sheriff’s Office report, a 2024 Jeep Grand Cherokee was parked facing east on Main Street.
A neighbor notified the vehicle owners about the damage. It extended along the driver’s side and included a mirror and transfer of white and maroon paint. The other vehicle appeared to be eastbound. No witnesses or other evidence were found.
• PRINCEVILLE – A Princeville man was accused of stealing alcohol from a local convenience store.
Chase C. Hartley, 26, was arrested at 3:30 p.m. June 26 in Dunlap in connection with the apparent theft that happened shortly before 10 p.m. June 8 at Casey’s, 105 E. Spring St. in Princeville, according to Peoria County Sheriff’s Office reports.
There was one witness, an 18-year-old Wyoming woman.
• PRINCEVILLE – Law-enforcement authorities were searching for someone who apparently stole a pickup truck north of Princeville.
The 2025 Chevrolet Silverado 3500HD was reported missing shortly before 10:15 a.m. June 25 from the 21500 block of Illinois Route 91, Peoria County Sheriff’s Office reports stated. The truck was recovered not long thereafter in a Rock Island Trail parking lot at Route 91 and Parks School Road north of Dunlap.
Suspect information was omitted from the heavily redacted reports. The case was suspended, pending new suspect information or DNA results. The pickup truck appeared to belong to a Princeton-based agricultural cooperative.
• HANNA CITY – No injuries were reported following a single-vehicle accident in Hanna City.
Maureen A. Loeffel of Mapleton was driving an eastbound 2024 Chevrolet Equinox at 9 a.m. June 24 in the 12700 block of W. Farmington Rd. when two rocks flew from the bed of a westbound dump truck and struck her vehicle’s windshield, according to a Peoria County Sheriff’s Office report.
The windshield and driver’s-side front panel sustained minor damage.
• FARMINGTON – Erin E. Beach, 50, of Elmwood was taken into custody shortly after 9:30 p.m. June 20 at her residence regarding an outstanding Fulton County warrant for failure to appear in court regarding an uninsured motor-vehicle charge, according to a Farmington police report. After she paid bond and fees, Beach was given a new date to appear in Fulton County Circuit Court in Lewistown.
• PRINCEVILLE – At 4 a.m. June 30, Jacob R. Wineinger of Princeville was driving a 2001 Ford north on Princeville-Jubilee Road near Parks School Road south of Princeville when the vehicle struck a deer, a Peoria County Sheriff’s Office report stated. Wineinger reported no injuries. The vehicle sustained damaged to its front and undercarriage. Wineinger drove the vehicle to the 200 block of W. Douglas St. in Princeville, from where it was to be towed.
• TRIVOLI – Shortly before 11:30 p.m. June 20, Olivia M. Seidel of Elmwood was driving a 2015 Ford Escape south in the 3700 block of N. Stone School Rd. north of Trivoli when the vehicle struck a deer. Seidel said she wasn’t injured, according to a Peoria County Sheriff’s Office report. The vehicle was drivable after it sustained minor damage to its driver’s-side headlight and door frame. The impact killed the deer, apparently.
• EDELSTEIN – Troy L. Bowen, 55, of Edelstein was arrested shortly before 9 a.m. June 27 and accused of unlawful possession of methamphetamine and theft/unauthorized control between $500 and $10,000, according to the Peoria County Sheriff’s Office.
• ELMWOOD – Chief Aaron Bean reported the following Elmwood Police Department activity for June: 14 traffic stops, two citations, 15 warnings, seven reports and one ordinance violation.
• FARMINGTON – Chief Chris Darsham reported the following Farmington Police Department activity for June: 292 business checks, 3,225 building checks, three crashes handled, four property crimes, six traffic tickets issued, 12 ordinance violations, four crimes against people, 13 miscellaneous, 21 traffic stops, five arrests made, 20 reports completed, 245 total calls and 12 calls to assist other police departments.
• GALESBURG – These were among calls to which the Knox County Sheriff’s Office responded between June 22-28: abandoned vehicle, Galva; wire down, Williamsfield; burglary, Douglas; stray dog, Williamsfield; road hazard, Williamsfield.
