• BRIMFIELD – A North Dakota woman was suspected of drunken driving following a single-vehicle accident in Brimfield.

A 2024 Chevrolet Tahoe sport-utility vehicle driven by Jodi E. Phillips, 38, of Williston was found about 9 p.m. July 9 in a ditch in front of Casey’s, 215 E. Knoxville St. A Peoria County Sheriff’s Office report about the incident was heavily redacted, but Brimfield firefighters and BYE Ambulance Service responded.
Phillips was arrested and transported to the Peoria County Jail. She was accused of driving under the influence of alcohol. Her vehicle was towed.

• PRINCEVILLE – A Princeville man was accused of burglarizing a local business.

Jesse L. Rosas, 36, was arrested shortly before 10 a.m. July 8 in connection with an incident that took place at R.L. Dominguez & Sons, 19227 N. Mendenhall Rd.

A heavily redacted Peoria County Sheriff’s Office report stated someone accused Rosas of breaking into the shop and unplugging its surveillance system. Damages were estimated at $4,460. Rosas was charged with burglary and criminal damage to property.

• OAK HILL – A blood-covered Monmouth man was accused of drunken driving following a one-vehicle wreck south of Oak Hill.

Eugene S. Inman, 38, was arrested shortly after the accident, which happened about 1 a.m. July 7 in the 16200 block of W. Cottonwood Rd. A Peoria County Sheriff’s Office deputy found a 2007 Ford F-150 pickup truck in a ditch on the right side of the road, according to a report.

Inman denied driving the vehicle; he said an unspecified friend was driving. Inman sustained a forehead laceration and was transported to OSF Saint Francis Medical Center in Peoria. He was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol, improper lane use and operating an uninsured vehicle.

• YATES CITY – A traffic accident north of Yates City resulted in a man being arrested on an outstanding warrant.

Matt Reynolds, 34, of Yates City said he was driving behind a southbound 2013 Nissan Pathfinder about 10 p.m. July 4 on Knox Highway 18 when the vehicle veered into a ditch at Knox Road 550 North. A 16-year-old Maquon boy was the other driver.

When a Knox County Sheriff’s Office deputy arrived, he found the boy, his mother and Reynolds at the scene. A check revealed Reynolds was wanted in Fulton County for failure to appear in court on an unspecified charge, a sheriff’s-office report stated.

Reynolds was transported to the Knox County Jail in Galesburg. The boy refused medical treatment and was cited for failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident. His vehicle was towed.

• WILLIAMSFIELD – A Princeville teenager was driving more than 35 mph over the speed limit when a Knox County Sheriff’s Office deputy stopped him south of Williamsfield.

The 16-year-old boy was behind the wheel of an eastbound 2017 Chevrolet pickup truck about 2:15 p.m. July 3 when a deputy clocked it at 92 mph in the 2200 block of U.S. Route 150. The speed limit in that area is 55 mph, according to a sheriff’s-office report.

When the deputy asked the boy why he was driving so fast, he said he didn’t know. The boy’s grandfather, who owns the vehicle, was in the passenger seat. The truck was impounded and the boy received a notice to appear in Knox County Circuit Court in Galesburg.

• DAHINDA – A Dahinda man found a gun stuck in dirt as he walked along property he purchased recently.

The 41-year-old man retrieved the North American Arms .22-caliber wooden-gripped derringer about 5 p.m. July 2 in the 1900 block of Knox Road 1500 North east of Dahinda, a Knox County Sheriff’s Office report stated. The man attempted to clear the gun’s chamber but was unsuccessful, as was a deputy.

No record of the gun was found on file. Several futile attempts were made to render it safe.

• YATES CITY – A Yates City-area woman admitted to drinking alcohol and smoking cannabis before she was involved in a single-vehicle accident.

Shortly after 6:30 p.m. July 1, 26-year-old Andiolivia J. Randall was driving an eastbound 2004 Chevrolet Blazer on Knox Road 750 North near Yates City when she lost control of the vehicle.

The vehicle entered a north-side ditch, crossed the road into a south-side ditch and overturned in a soybean field, according to a Knox County Sheriff’s Office report. An ambulance transported Randall, who was wearing a seat belt, to OSF Saint Francis Medical Center in Peoria. She sustained minor injuries.

Randall’s passenger, a 25-year-old Yates City-area man, also sustained minor injuries and was transported to St. Francis. He was not wearing a seat belt, the report stated. Randall was cited for driving under the influence of alcohol and failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident. The vehicle was towed.

• YATES CITY – A combine fire north of Yates City burned about one acre of wheat.

The blaze began about 1:15 p.m. July 1 at a farm in the 1700 block of Knox Road 900 North. The 48-year-old farmer was operating a John Deere combine when the wheatfield caught fire, according to a Knox County Sheriff’s Office report.

Maquon firefighters extinguished the flames. The cause was a too-tight head guard on the combine, the report stated. No injuries were reported. Crop damage was estimated at less than $500.

• KICKAPOO – A Kickapoo-area resident was the subject of computer tampering, according to authorities.
The incident was reported about 5:30 p.m. June 25 at a residence in the 11700 block of W. Hickory Springs Drive. A heavily redacted Peoria County Sheriff’s Office report stated a deputy was dispatched there regarding a deceptive-practices call.

Among redacted items were the names of the victim and the suspect. The sheriff’s office cited an ongoing criminal investigation in not releasing more information.

• BRIMFIELD – Shortly before 9:15 p.m. June 24, Wendy Craig of Dunlap was driving an eastbound 2020 Toyota Sienna minivan in the 13700 block of W. Brimfield-Jubilee Rd. when the vehicle struck a deer. Craig exited the vehicle and dragged the dead deer off the road, according to a Peoria County Sheriff’s Office report. Craig and her passenger, a female, were uninjured. The vehicle sustained damage to its front hood, grille, bumper and radiator and was towed.

• FARMINGTON – Thomas A. Magner, 52, of Farmington was arrested at 5 p.m. July 11 and accused of failure to appear in court, according to the Peoria County Sheriff’s Office.

• ELMWOOD – William B. Bean, 30, of Elmwood was arrested shortly after 5 p.m. July 11 and accused of failure to appear in court, according to the Peoria County Sheriff’s Office.
