Canton man leads police on chase into Norris
FARMINGTON – A driver, pursued by Canton resident Kyle Shawgo, contacted Farmington police who witnessed Shawgo on Fort Street trying to run the driver off the road, according to a Dec. 11 Farmington police report. When officers attempted to pull both vehicles over, Shawgo led police on a pursuit into Norris, where they terminated the chase.
Canton officers later took Shawgo, 26, into custody, charging him with 2 counts of aggravated assault, aggravated fleeing and eluding, criminal damage to property over $500, 3 counts of reckless driving, 11 counts of disobeying a stop sign, 4 counts of improper lane usage, 2 counts of failure to signal, failure to yield to emergency vehicle, 3 counts of speeding more than 35 miles over posted speed limit, and 3 counts of speeding 26-35 mph over the posted speed limit. Shawgo was taken to Fulton County Jail to await a bond hearing.

• LAURA – Daniel E. Crotts, 31, of Laura was charged on Dec. 12 with resisting a peace officer.
• BRIMFIELD – Sean A. Eeten, 44, was charged on Dec. 13 with failure to appear.
• BRIMFIELD – A Brimfield woman found a large dent in her van after observing a truck leave her driveway in the 100 block of Van Buren in Brimfield on Dec. 13, according to a Peoria County Sheriff’s report. According to the woman, her van was parked on the side of her driveway, well off the road. She told police she has no idea why the “white Chevy S-10” would have been in her yard. She also said she didn’t recognize the driver, a “white male in his mid-30s with a scruffy beard and short curly hair.” There are no suspects.
• FARMINGTON – Michael Snider, 29, from Farmington was charged on Dec. 11 with a DUI. He was released with a court appearance at Fulton County.
• ELMWOOD – Alex C. Naumann, 20, of Elmwood was charged on Dec. 8 with DUI drugs and failure to obey stop sign.
