Elmwood woman, daughter hurt in crash KNOXVILLE – An Elmwood woman and her teen-age daughter sustained injuries in a two-vehicle accident July 4 in Knox County, where a woman was accused of drunken driving. The accident happened about 10:45 p.m. July 4 on Illinois Route 97 near U.S. Route 150 east of Knoxville. Galva’s Freedom Fest is among the many local events scheduled for the July 4 weekend. The three-day Freedom Fest culminates Monday, July 4, with a fireworks show at dusk by Pyrotecnico at the Galva Park District. Darren Bailey (R-Xenia) won the Republican gubernatorial primary held Tuesday. With 58 percent of the vote counted, Bailey led a crowded Republican field with 56.9 percent of the vote. Jesse Sullivan was at 15.9 percent and Richard Irvin was running third at 15.5 percent. Farmington raises meal prices

Among those were increasing meal prices: $2.75 for Pre-K to Grade 8 lunch; $2.95 for high school lunch; 35 cents for milk; $1.90 for breakfast. The board also approved Inter-State Studios as district photographer, a Physical Restraint and Isolation Reduction Plan, Mobex Laboratory for on-site testing and Heart Technologies for technology services. Landon Rice of Princeville assumed the part-time position in mid-June, according to Village Trustee Teresa Gilroy. She leads the committee that oversees the village-owned swimming facility, located at 620 Princeville Ave. Rice is heading into his senior year at Knox College in Galesburg, where he is a defensive lineman on the football team. Hanna City man arrested for DUI HANNA CITY – A Hanna City man was accused of aggravated drunken driving after he was found asleep in his truck at a rural intersection. Cort A. State snake triggers memories of Milky
Marriage teaches many lessons. With the knowledge gleaned from marriage, a man can adapt to working in an office staffed by predominantly women. As part of that learning process, a man can realize that bringing a pet snake into the office should never happen again. Oh well. At least we were ahead of the curve in having a milksnake serve as unofficial mascot here at The Weekly Post. Last week, Illinois designated the eastern milksnake as the official state snake.
