Incidents & Accidents
Stark County

11-3-20 – A deer-related vehicle accident occurred on Route 17. The driver involved was Benjamin Hallberg, 31, of Kewanee. No injuries were reported but the vehicle sustained estimated damages over $1,500.
10-29-20 – Cody A. James, 22, Sterling, was cited for excessive noise and/or a loud muffler, and for driving without insurance.
10-30-20 – William C. Wentz, 34, LaFayette, was cited for driving with no insurance.
10-30-20 – Steve Endress, of Bradford, reported the theft of his leaf blower. The incident remains under investigation.
11-2-20 – Threats and harassment were the source of a complaint received from a Wyoming resident in the 700 block of North Main Street.
11-2-20 – Melissa R. Louati, 33, Benton, Kentucky, was arrested on a Stark County warrant for failure to appear for obstructing justice, and for failure to appear at a preliminary hearing. She was also charged with possession of methamphetamine and possession of drug paraphernalia. She posted $222 cash bond and related fees on the Stark County warrant and then was later released with a notice to appear on the additional pending charges.
11-2-20 – Joshua A. Williams, 35, of Clinton, Kentucky, was arrested on two outstanding warrants including one in Rock Island County for failure to appear on the original charge for possession of a stolen vehicle, and on a Bureau County warrant for failure to appear on the original charges for criminal trespass to a vehicle and for driving on a suspended license.
His bond was set at 10 percent of $10,000 in Rock Island County, and ten-percenet of $5,000 in Bureau County. Unable to post bond he was taken into custody and placed in the Stark County jail awaiting extradition to Rock Island County. He was also issued a notice to appear on the Bureau County charges. Williams was released into the custody of the Rock Island County authorities on Nov. 3.
11-6-20 – A juvenile domestic problem was handled in the 400 block of North Henderson Street, in Toulon. The incident was handled by the Stark County Sheriff’s Office.
11-6-20 – Shaun R. Frantzen, 42, Kewanee, was charged with driving without a valid driver’s license, and for driving without vehicle insurance. He was released with notices to appear on the charges.

11-2-20 – Officer dispatched to the 00 block of SW 2nd Street to remove an unwanted customer.
11-2-20 – Officer executed a search warrant in the 100 block of SE 3rd Street.
11-3-20 – Officer dispatched to a traffic complaint involving a dump truck west of town on Route 34.
11-3-20 – Officer, along with the fire department, was dispatched to the 600 block of SE Industrial Ave. for a fire.
11-3-20 – Officer went to the 100 block of NW 8th Ave. to attempt to locate a wanted subject. As the result, Robert Miller, 29, Galva, was arrested on a Henry County warrant for failure to appear on a charge of driving while license suspended. He was able to post bond and was released.
11-3-20 – Officer dispatched to an activated burglar alarm in the 600 block of SE 2nd Street. It was determined to be a false alarm.
11-3-20 – Officer dispatched to the 00 block of NW 5th Street for a juvenile mischief complaint.
11-4-20 – Officer met with a complainant at the Galva PD to take a report involving a phone scam. The victim had given an unknown caller his bank account information.
11-4-20 – Officer spoke to a resident in the 1000 block of NW 7th Ave. about a city ordinance violation.
11-5-20 – As the result of a traffic stop in the 800 block of SE 2nd Street, Bryant Rucker, 19, Galesburg, was arrested for driving while license suspended and speeding. He was also found to be wanted on a Knox County warrant for failure to appear on a charge of driving while license suspended. He was released with court dates for Henry and Knox Counties.
11-5-20 – Officer dispatched to a combine and field fire just south and west of town. The fire department handled the situation.
11-5-20 – As the result of a traffic stop in the 600 block of South Center Ave., Josh Petty, 40, Toulon, was arrested for driving while license suspended and operating an uninured vehicle. He was released with a required court date.
11-5-20 – As the result of a traffic stop in the 00 block of NE 4th Ave., Joseph Arnold, 37, Galva, was arrested for driving while license suspended, and fleeing and eluding a peace officer. He was released with a required court date.
11-5-20 – Officer dispatched to a two-vehicle crash involving damage only in the 100 block of SE 4th Ave.
11-5-20 – Officer dispatched to the 00 block of NE 4th Ave. for a property line dispute/trespassing complaint.
11-5-20 – Officer met with a subject, who turned in a cell phone that he had found on his property.
11-6-20 – Officer dispatched to the 100 block of SE 2nd Ave. for a repossession of a vehicle that was taking place.
11-6-20 – Officer dispatched to the 300 block of SE 2nd Street for a loud noise/fireworks complaint.
11-6-20 – Officer dispatched to the 200 block of SW 3rd Street for a juvenile complaint.
11-7-20 – Officer dispatched to the 300 block of NW 6th Ave. for a loose dog complaint.
11-7-20 – Officer, along with the fire department, was dispatched to a tree on fire in the 800 block of NW 3rd Ave.
11-8-20 – Officer dispatched to Wiley Park to meet with a parent and a juvenile after some graffiti was discovered. The mess was cleaned up.
11-8-20 – Officer met with a motorist who struck a dog in the 800 block of North Center Ave. The dog owner took it to an emergency vet clinic for care.
11-8-20 – Officer dispatched just north of Galva for two dogs running at large.
11-8-20 – Officer dispatched to a residence on SE 6th Street for a welfare check. Stark County Medic handled after a male subject was located who had fallen.
11-8-20 – Officer dispatched to the 100 block of SE 2nd Ave. for a theft complaint.
11-5-20 – Juan Ramirez, 18, Monmouth was issued a citation for speeding in the 200 block of SE 2nd Street.
