Incidents & Accidents
Stark County
11-8 – A two-vehicle accident occurred on Route 17 about a quarter of a mile west of 500E. The drivers involved were Amos E. Anderson, 51, Toulon, and Brian L. Mallery, 58, LaFayette. Both drivers were heading east when Anderson reportedly drove into the back of a grain wagon being pulled by Mallery. Anderson was ejected from his vehicle and was life-flighted to OSF St. Francis Hospital in Peoria. Mallery was not injured. Anderson was ticketed for failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident.
11-12 – A single-vehicle accident occurred on 1100N and Vineyard Rd. north of Toulon. The driver involved was identified as a 16-year-old Kewanee girl who told authorities that a deer had jumped out in front of her vehicle, causing her to swerve and lose control of her 2008 Honda utility vehicle. No tickets were issued and no injuries were reported to either the driver and or a passenger riding in the vehicle. The vehicle sustained estimated damages over $1,500.
11-7 – Debra A. Miller, 60, Toulon, was cited for failure to disobey a yield sign.
11-7 – Toby Thompson, 27, LaSalle, was cited for speeding 78 mph in a 55 zone, operating a vehicle without insurance, and failure to properly secure a child under the age of 8 years old. He was released with a notice to appear.
11-8 – Cheryl K. Vincent, 55, Cambridge, was arrested for speeding 73 mph in a 55 zone, improper use of a vehicle registration, and operation of a salvage junk vehicle. She was later released with a notice to appear.
11-8 – James L. Newton, 42, Toulon, was ticketed for speeding 66 mph in a 55 zone and for operating an uninsured vehicle. He was released with a court date to appear.
11-9 – Mark D. Thornton, 44, Toulon, was arrested on a Henry County warrant. He posted $100 cash bond and was released with a court date to appear.
11-9 – Shane M. Decker, 36, Toulon, was arrested for driving on a suspended driver’s license. He was later released with a notice to appear.
11-9 – Robert S. Maher, Princeville, reported that his red Honda four-wheeler had been stolen from his shed. The incident remains under investigation.
11-12 – Joshua A. Williams, 37, Clinton, Ky., was arrested for possession of a controlled substance, possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver, possession of a controlled substance in a penal institution, trespassing, and attempted home invasion. He was also found wanted on a Bureau County warrant. Williams was taken into custody and transported to the Stark County Jail.

Officer dispatched:
11-7 – Officer was dispatched to Wiley Park after vandalism was found in the restrooms. Officers watched camera footage, conducted interviews and found the juveniles responsible. They were each given public service hours to repay for their actions.
11-7 – Officer responded to Woodhull for a complaint involving a road-rage incident where one of the subjects produced a handgun near the post office. Henry County handled the incident.
11-7 – Officer was dispatched to the 400 block of N. Center Ave. for a complaint involving illegal burning on a non-burn day.
11-7 – Officer was dispatched to the 100 block of SW 10th Ave. for a complaint involving juvenile mischief.
11-7 – Officer was dispatched to the 500 block of NW 5th Ave. for a complaint involving juveniles ringing the doorbell and then running. Officer was not able to locate anyone.
11-7 – Officer was dispatched to a residence on SW 3rd St. for a welfare check on a family member. The subject in question was fine.
11-9 – Officer was dispatched to the 300 block of Front St. for a report of loud music playing during the overnight hours.
11-9 – Officer spoke to a resident in the 200 block of NE 6th St. in reference to a city ordinance violation involving accumulating junk and a non-running vehicle.
11-9 – Officer was dispatched to the 800 block of SW 4th St. for a dog-bite report. The victim had sought medical attention, however, did not want to file a police report about the incident.
11-10 – Officer was dispatched to the 200 block of NE 7th St. for a loose-dog complaint. The dog was impounded and later released to its owner, who was from rural Bishop Hill.
11-10 – Officer was dispatched to the 100 block of SE 6th Ave. for a harassment/threats complaint.
11-12 – Officer was dispatched to the 500 block of NE 3rd St. for a verbal domestic disturbance.
11-12 – Officer was dispatched to the 800 block of NW 3rd Ave. for a possible theft. It was determined to be a package delivery.
11-12 – As the result of a traffic stop in the 1200 block of SE 2nd St., James Allicks, 46, Wyanet, was arrested for improper use of registration, operating vehicle with expired registration, not having valid registration, and not having a rear registration light. He was released with a required court date.
11-13 – Officer was flagged down about a dog that had been struck and killed by a car just north of town. The owner was contacted and came to retrieve the dog.
11-13 – Officer was dispatched to the 700 block of W. Division St. for a semi parked in the roadway. The driver was advised to move along.
11-13 – Officer was dispatched to the 00 block of NE 4th St. for a complaint involving a smoke smell in the area.
11-13 – Officer was dispatched to the 100 block of Market St. for a complaint involving a juvenile that believed she was being followed by a male subject on foot. Officer spoke to the subject, who advised he was walking to convenience store as well.
11-13 – Officer was dispatched to the 00 block of NW 5th St. for a possible fire near an outlet in the house.
11-7 – Jayesh Patel, 52, Hanover Park, Ill., was issued a citation for speeding in the 1000 block of N. Center Ave.
11-11 – Adrian Chavez, 20, Dekalb, was issued a citation for having expired registration in the 900 block of SE 2nd St.
11-11 – Chase Sumner, 21, Cambridge, was issued a citation for unlawful possession of adult use cannabis in a motor vehicle.
11-12 – Mary Barber, 48, Chillicothe, was issued a citation for speeding in the 1100 block of SE 2nd St.
11-12 – Charles Lovell, 23, Galesburg, was issued a citation for speeding in the 800 block of SE 2nd St.
11-12 – A 17-year-old male from Kewanee was issued a citation for speeding in the 1200 block of SE 2nd St.
11-13 – Jodie Clague, 54, Galva, was issued a citation for speeding in the 900 block of N. Center Ave.
