Incidents & Accidents
Stark County

11-18 – A single-vehicle animal related accident occurred at the rural location of 650E and 650N. The driver involved was Barbara J. Loane, 66, of Toulon, who was traveling south on 650E when a coyote ran in front of the vehicle and was struck. Estimated damages to the vehicle were reported at over $1,500. No injuries were reported.
11-21 – A deer-related accident occurred along Route 93 approximately a half of a mile from the intersection of 1200E. The driver was Patricia D. Ray, 66, Canton, who was traveling east on Route 93 when the deer stepped into the path of the oncoming vehicle and was struck. No injuries were reported but estimated damages were over $1,500.
11-14 – Roberta Kronner, of Wyoming, reported criminal damage to a vehicle after discovering the back window broken. The incident remains under investigation.
11-14 – A domestic battery incident was reported from East Main Street, in Toulon, which resulted in two arrests. Paul R. Carlson, 51, of Toulon, was initially taken into custody for possible domestic battery along with an outstanding Bureau County warrant for failure to appear on a domestic battery charge. Heather D. Rucker, 42, of Toulon, was also charged with domestic battery. Both parties appeared in court on a bond hearing on Nov. 16, where it was determined that no charges would be filed in Stark County against either party and they were both released. Paul Carlson however was issued a notice to appear in Bureau County court on the pending warrant.
11-18 – Amber L. Krause, 41, Kewanee, was issued a notice to appear for driving without a valid driver’s license.
11-18 – Eldon D. Sturm Jr., 57, Kewanee, was issued a notice to appear for possession of drug paraphernalia and cited for a faulty exhaust. He was found wanted on a Henry County warrant for failure to appear on a pay plan status on the original offense for delivery of less than five grams of meth. He was extradited from the scene of the traffic stop by Henry County authorities and transported to the Henry County Jail.
11-19 – Mark D. Thornton, 43, Toulon, was issued a notice to appear for not having a valid vehicle registration.
11-19 – A 16-year-old Wyoming juvenile was arrested for violation of a court ordered supervised release, obstructing police, and possession of tobacco by a minor. The teen was taken into custody and transported to the Mary Davis juvenile facility, in Galesburg.
11-20 – Alexa J. Stabler, 21, Bradford, was arrested by Stark County authorities on a Henry County warrant for failure to appear on a burglary charge. She posted $2,500 cash bond and was released with a new court date.

Officer dispatched:

11-15 – to the 500 block of SE 2nd St. to check on a suspicious vehicle. The occupants were waiting for a friend.
11-15 – to the 00 block of Morgan Road for found property. An expired Illinois driver’s license was turned in.
11-15 – Officer met with a resident at the Galva Police Department about a scam complaint.
11-16 – to the 1300 block of SE 2nd St. for an activated burglar alarm. The building appeared secure.
11-16 – to the 900 block of SE 2nd St. to retrieve an item that was left behind by a customer. The customer contacted the police department the next day and the item was returned.
11-17 – to Sentry Estates for a civil standby to retrieve property.
11-17 – to the 00 block of NW 4th Ave. along with the fire department and Stark County Medic for an activated fire alarm.
11-17 – to the 300 block of NE 1st Ave. for a theft complaint. The items were later found by the complainant.
11-18 – to the 200 block of Morgan Road for a two-vehicle accident. There was no visible damage on either vehicle.
11-18 – Officer advised of a repossession that was taking place in the 300 block of SE 8th Ave. No issues were reported.
11-18 – to a residence in the 1000 block of SE 2nd St. to attempt to locate a wanted subject. As the result, Michael Thuline, 53, Galva, was arrested on a Henry County warrant for failure to appear on the charge of disorderly conduct – filing a false police report. He was unable to post bond and was transported to the Henry County Jail.
11-18 – to County Highway 5 just north of town for a car vs deer accident. A crash report was completed.
11-18 – to the 400 block of NW 4th St. for a dog bite complaint. The animal owner was the victim of a minor bite.
11-19 – Officer attempted to contact a resident in the 100 block of NE 7th St. for Knox County in reference to an incident that happened there last week.
11-19 – along with the fire department and Stark County Medic to a field fire just north of J. Mac Metals.
11-19 – to the 200 block of East Division St. for a loose pit bull complaint. Owner was able to get the dog back in the house.
11-19 – to the 900 block of West Division St. to attempt to locate a wanted subject. As the result, Rachel Rawlings, 36, Galva, was arrested on a Henry County warrant for the charge of failing to appear on the charge of operating an uninsured vehicle. She was able to post bond and was released with a required court date.
11-19 – to the Galva Park District in reference to a group of juveniles breaking lights in the pavilion. Officer spoke with the juveniles, but no damage was located.
11-20 – to the 600 block of SE Industrial Ave. for an activated burglar alarm.
11-20 – to the Exchange Street railroad crossing for a crossing arm malfunction. BNSF was contacted for repairs.
11-20 – to the 00 block of SE 2nd Ave. for a fight involving two brothers.
11-21 – to the 600 block of NW 1st St. for an illegal burning complaint.
11-21 – to a residence on NW 2nd St. for a welfare check. The subject was fine.
11-19 – Sara Beanblossom, 28, North Judson, Ind., was issued a citation for speeding in the 1200 block of SE 2nd St..
