Elmwood police arrived at the apartment in the 200 block of N. Knox St. shortly after the Elmwood Fire Department, Peoria County Sheriff’s Department deputies and BYE Ambulance. According to David J. Bloomfield, his wife, Arlene N. Bloomfield, 45, of Elmwood, was treated two months ago for an issue that caused pain in her chest and left arm. He said it wasn’t uncommon for Arlene to get up in the middle of the night to ease the pain, as was the case last Friday. When the husband found Arlene at 7:20 a.m. Saturday morning, she was cold to the touch and had no pulse. The Peoria County Coroner pronounced her dead at 8 a.m. of natural causes.
