2-11-20 – A single-vehicle accident occurred on Route 78 at the intersection of Route 17. The driver involved was identified as Elizabeth S. Heisler, 31, of Annawan. She lost control of her vehicle after going off the road and then overcorrecting. The vehicle struck a guardrail before coming to a rest. No injuries were reported and no tickets were issued.
2-10-20 – Galva police dispatched to a residence on SW 5th Ave. for a welfare check on a child. The child was located at the school.
2-10-20 – As the result of a traffic stop in the 100 block of NW 5th St., Travis Bantz, 23, Williamsfield, was arrested for driving while license suspended. He was released with a required court date.
2-11-20 – Galva police met with a resident at the Galva police department to take a report involving arson in the 00 block of NE 4th Ave.
2-12-20 – Galva police dispatched to the 1000 block of SE 2nd St. for an attempted phone scam involving a caller claiming to work for Ameren.
2-12-20 – Galva police dispatched to the 300 block of SE 1st Ave. for a loose dog complaint. The dog was captured and impounded. Its owner retrieved the dog later in the day.
2-12-20 – Galva police dispatched to the 200 block of NW 7th Ave. for a complaint involving harassing text messages.
2-12-20 – Galva police assisted the Henry County Sheriff’s Department with a single vehicle accident several miles west of Galva.
2-13-20 – Galva police dispatched to the 300 block of SW 3rd St. for a verbal domestic dispute.
2-13-20 – Galva police assisted the Henry County Sheriff’s Office by checking on a motorist who slid into the ditch north of Galva. The driver was given a ride to Casey’s to wait for a ride.
2-14-20 – Galva police dispatched to the railroad crossing east of Galva to check for a vehicle that was disabled and stuck on the railroad tracks. The vehicle was located on 300 North at the Trolley Road crossing.
2-14-20 – Galva police dispatched to the 500 block of SE 2nd St. for a complaint involving a customer who was “refusing to pay for gas that was pumped.” The subject paid for the fuel and left.
2-15-20 – Galva police dispatched to the 400 block of SE 5th Ave. for a loose dog complaint. The dog was returned to its owner.
2-15-20 – A single-vehicle accident occurred on Route 91 approximately 50 feet west of 750N. Driver Hannah E. Dries, 21, of Bradford, was traveling north when she began to head into a curve and lost control of the vehicle due to ice. No injuries were reported and no tickets were issued.
2-10-20 – A complaint involving possible deceptive practices was reported by a LaFayette resident. The incident remains under investigation.
2-14-20 – A 17-year-old Toulon juvenile was ticketed for driving a vehicle outside the permitted driving restriction time per the guidelines of a graduated driver’s license.
