Stark County Report

4-22-20 – A deer-related vehicle accident occurred on Route 93 involving driver Martin J. Dynes, 57, of Annawan. There were no injuries reported but the vehicle did sustain over $1,500 in estimated damages.
4-26-20 – A deer-related vehicle accident occurred on Route 93 approximately one mile west of the Osceola Road. The driver involved was Jacob Verscha, 33, of Kewanee. No injuries were reported and no tickets were issued.
4-26-20 – Shawn L. Hall, 47, Toulon, was ticketed for failure to signal.
4-27-20 – Jessica N. Waddell, 24, Toulon, was arrested for unlawful use of registration, displaying false insurance card, driving with no insurance, possession of adult use cannabis in a motor vehicle, and possession of drug paraphernalia. She was released with a notice to appear in court.
4-27-20 – A harassment complaint was reported to Stark County authorities from a Peoria Heights resident.
4-27-20 – Delores Walker, Toulon, reported a burglary from her rural residential property. The incident remains under investigation.
4-27-20 – James L. Newton, 39, Speer, was issued a notice to appear for unlawful visitation interference in reference to a child custody dispute.
4-28-20 – John Hatch, 69, Wyoming, was issued a notice to appear for battery.
4-29-20 – A domestic problem was reported and handled in Lombardville.
5-1-20 – Karyssa L. Helg, 28, Galva, was arrested by Stark County authorities on a failure to appear on a Peoria County warrant for shoplifting. She was taken to the Stark County Jail and later released on a personal recogniznace bond,
5-1-20 – Chad W. Wilkins, 46, Wyoming, was ticketed for speeding 71 mph in a 55 zone, and for driving while his license was suspended.
5-2-20 – Samantha A. Hallock, 20, Kewanee, was arrested on an outstanding Henry County warrant. She was taken into custody and later released with a notice to appear.
5-3-20 – A debit-card-related theft was reported by a Wyoming resident.
Galva Report
4-27-20 – Officer was dispatched to Route 17 near Lake Calhoun to assist Stark Co. with a traffic stop/warrant arrest.
4-27-20 – Officer dispatched to the 800 block of NW 5th Ave. for a trespassing complaint involving a neighbor.
4-27-10 – Officer directed traffic at the Exchange Street railroad crossing due to the railroad gates being down with no trains present. They eventually reset and went back up.
4-27-20 – Officer dispatched to the 300 block of SE 2nd Ave. for an ongoing complaint involving loud music and parties.
4-28-20 – Officer was dispatched to the 100 block of Main Street for a domestic disturbance involving two brothers. A report was forwarded to the States’ Attorneys Office for review.
4-28-20 – Officer was dispatched to 300 block of SW 3rd Street for a male subject reportedly screaming. Officer checked the area and was unable to locate the offender.
4-29-20 – Officer spoke to a citizen by telephone in reference to an animal neglect complaint.
4-29-20 – Officer was dispatched to a reckless driving complaint involving a semi-truck east of Galva. Officer located the truck but didn’t have any probable cause to make a traffic stop.
4-29-20 – Officer assisted Henry Co. with serving an order of protection and a civil standby in the 00 block of NE 2nd Street.
4-29-20 – Officer dispatched to an active burglar alarm in the 1300 block of SE 2nd Street. It was determined to be a false alarm.
4-30-20 – Officer assisted Henry Co. Sheriff’s Dept. with a traffic complaint/meth arrest east of Galva on Route 34.
4-30-20 – Officer dispatched to a suspicious person complaint in the 200 block of NE 2nd Street. Officer checked the area and was unable to locate anyone.
5-1-20 – Officer dispatched to the 300 block of SW 4th Ave. for a possible gunshot or fireworks complaint. Unable to locate.
5-1-20 – Officer met with a resident in the 00 block of NW 5th Street in reference to a possible stolen bicycle from Kewanee.
5-1-20 – Officer dispatched to a residence on NE 4th Ave. for a juvenile who was suicidal. The suspect ran away on foot and was caught east of Trolley Road and taken to the hospital for evaluation and treatment.
5-2-20 – Officer dispatched to the 00 block of NE 4th Ave. to remove an unwanted subject.
5-2-20 – Officer dispatched to a fireworks complaint in the 800 block of NE 2nd Ave.
5-2-20 – Officer dispatched to an altercation in the 700 block of NE 1st Ave.
5-3-20 – Officer was dispatched for a loose dog complaint in the 00 block of Chester Street. The dog was taken to the impound.
5-3-20 – Officer was dispatched to the 100 block of SE 3rd Street for a loud party complanit involving social distancing violations.
