Edwards man jailed for hitting father of fiancee

• EDWARDS – An Edwards man punched in the face the father of his fiancée during an altercation that involved all three, according to authorities.

Trevor L. Smith, 24, was arrested following the incident, which happened about 5:30 a.m. Dec. 2 at a residence in the 6300 block of N. Grace Lane in rural Edwards.

Events culminated with an intoxicated Smith punching the 59-year-old victim, according to a Peoria County Sheriff’s Office report. When deputies arrived, the victim was holding an ice pack over his right eye. The area around his eye was red, swollen and bloody.

Smith was accused of domestic battery/physical contact and transported to the Peoria County Jail. He received a notice to appear in court.

• TRIVOLI – A Trivoli man suspected of involvement in a Fulton County traffic accident was arrested on two outstanding warrants.
Cameron B. Snider, 24, was taken into custody about midnight Dec. 1 at a residence in the 18200 block of W. Farmington Rd. in Trivoli. A Peoria County Sheriff’s Office deputy was dispatched there upon a welfare-check request from Fulton County colleagues.
Snider said he was OK and was not involved in a vehicle accident, according to a Peoria sheriff’s-office report.
Snider was wanted in Peoria County for driving with a suspended license and in Fulton County for improper possession of adult-use cannabis.
He was transported to the Peoria County Jail.

• HANNA CITY – No injuries were reported in a two-vehicle collision west of Hanna City.
The accident happened shortly before 5 p.m. Nov. 28 at Farmington and Eden roads.
According to the Peoria County Sheriff’s Office, a 2017 Subaru Outback driven by Mary C. Ludlum of Canton rear-ended a 2018 Nissan sport-utility vehicle driven by Patricia A. Boyer of Hanna City.
Both vehicles were westbound on Farmington Road when Boyer stopped to turn south on Eden Road. The collision pushed her vehicle off the road and into a ditch, a sheriff’s-office report stated.
Both vehicles sustained more than $1,500 in damage and were towed.

• ELMWOOD – A Peoria woman was accused of driving a friend’s vehicle into another of his vehicles parked at his rural-Elmwood residence.
A Peoria County Sheriff’s Office deputy was summoned about 1 p.m. Nov. 25 to the 7900 block of N. Pulsifer Rd. There, the victim said Tiffany E. Ford backed a 2008 Chevrolet Colorado pickup truck into a 2010 Volkswagen Jetta.
The incident happened a few days earlier, per a sheriff’s-office report.
The deputy noted the Jetta’s front bumper was detached and its driver’s-side headlight was broken.
The victim said he has allowed Ford to use his pickup truck for several months. Ford was not at the scene, and the deputy’s attempt to contact her was futile. No injuries were reported.

• KICKAPOO – No injuries were reported in a two-vehicle collision at the west edge of Kickapoo.
About 1:45 p.m. Nov. 21, Janine R. Dearing of Princeville was driving a 2018 Honda pickup truck west on U.S. Route 150 at Voorhees Road when it struck a 2021 GMC pickup truck that was towing a livestock trailer. The driver was Lane G. Schilling of Okawville.
Dearing said she was behind Schilling’s vehicle when she swerved to avoid hitting it. Schilling’s vehicle had slowed to turn north on Voorhees Road and Dearing had taken her eyes off the pavement momentarily, according to a Peoria County Sheriff’s Office report.
The Honda had extensive body damage along its driver’s side and was inoperable, the report stated.
That vehicle was towed. The right-rear corner of the GMC’s passenger-side door was damaged, and the trailer was scraped and gouged.

• TRIVOLI – Blake M. Johnson, 31, of Trivoli was arrested at 4:15 p.m. Dec. 3 and accused of failure to appear in court, according to the Peoria County Sheriff’s Office.

• BRIMFIELD – Joseph T. Coyle, 28, of Brimfield was arrested at 11:30 a.m. Nov. 30 and accused of home invasion that causes injury, domestic battery/physical contact and interfering with a report of domestic violence, according to the Peoria County Sheriff’s Office.

• FARMINGTON – Farmington Police Chief Chris Darsham reported the following activity for his department in November: 283 business checks, 4,047 building checks, 1 crash handled, 1 property crime, 25 ordinance violations/traffic tickets issued, 3 crimes against people (assaults, batteries, orders of protection), 12 miscellaneous, 26 traffic stops, 6 arrests, 17 reports completed, 283 calls for the month and 20 assist other police department calls.
