Police Reports
• BRIMFIELD – A Peoria man claimed another driver ran him off a road northwest of Brimfield.

Shortly after 5 p.m. June 6, Charles A. Morris was driving a 2016 Nissan Altima south on Illinois Route 78 near Peoria-Galesburg Trail when the other driver began to follow him closely, according to a Peoria County Sheriff’s Office report.

Looking through the rearview mirror, Davis said he could see the driver yelling and making obscene hand gestures. Morris ended up driving into a ditch southwest of the Peoria-Galesburg intersection, the report stated.

Morris didn’t know whether the other vehicle hit his.

Morris said the other vehicle was brown and driven by a white male with brown hair and a brown beard. A deputy saw no evidence of a two-vehicle collision but did note damage to the Altima driver’s-side mirror and front bumper. The mirror struck a telephone pole, according to the report.

• WEST PEORIA – An Elmwood man admitted fault in a parking-lot collision in West Peoria.

Arthur J. Long said he backed into a 2016 Ford Fusion parked about 5:30 p.m. June 1 at Express Liquors on Farmington, 2705 W. Farmington Rd., according to a Peoria County Sheriff’s Office report. Long was driving a 2015 Ford F-150 pickup truck.

The Fusion sustained damage to its driver’s-side wheel well and door. The pickup truck sustained minor damage to the passenger-side rear taillight. The sheriff’s-office report did not identify the other driver. Both drivers refused medical attention.

• EDWARDS – A shed was burglarized in Edwards, according to authorities. The burglary happened June 13 in the 9700 block of W. Powdermill Rd. It wasn’t clear what was reported stolen, nor the circumstances of the burglary. The Peoria County Sheriff’s Office cited an ongoing investigation in not releasing a report about the incident.

• WILLIAMSFIELD – About 8:15 p.m. June 7, Zachary A. Carter, 35, of Monmouth was driving a 2016 Toyota Corolla west on Interstate 74 south of Williamsfield when his vehicle struck a deer. The vehicle sustained disabling front-end damage and was towed, a Knox County Sheriff’s Office report stated. The impact killed the deer. Carter’s condition was not available.

• BRIMFIELD – Shortly after 6:15 a.m. May 29, Kendra J. Hardges of Galesburg was driving a 2018 Jeep Compass east on Interstate 74 at Thousand Dollar Road southeast of Brimfield when the vehicle struck a deer that emerged from the south. Hardges said she was uninjured, a Peoria County Sheriff’s Office report stated. The Jeep sustained substantial passenger-side fender and body-panel damage and was towed.

• GLASFORD – At 10 p.m. May 22, Blaine J. Pestle of Hanna City was driving a 2017 Dodge Journey south in the 9000 block of S. Martin Weber Rd. northwest of Glasford when the vehicle struck a deer that emerged from the west. Pestle declined medical treatment, according to a Peoria County Sheriff’s Office report. His vehicle was towed after it sustained front-end and driver’s-door damage. The deer was killed upon impact.

• GALESBURG – These were among calls to which the Knox County Sheriff’s Office responded between June 4-10: threats complaint, Dahinda; two burglar alarms, Oak Run; two juvenile troubles, Yates City; stray dog, Dahinda; dispute, Yates City; two damages, Dahinda.
