Village passes ordinance By JEFF LAMPE For The Weekly Post BRIMFIELD – Brimfield took one step closer to a 12-acre community solar project on Monday when the Village Board voted 5-1 in favor of an ordinance establishing regulations for solar installations. If three other hurdles are cleared, a proposed Jubilee Solar project on the east side of the village could generate up to $41,000 per year in benefits for the school district and an additional $5,500 for local taxing bodies according to the developer, Trajectory Energy Partners. Several thefts from Hanna City vehicles reported

By NICK VLAHOS For The Weekly Post HANNA CITY – At least five vehicle-burglary cases were reported recently in the Hanna City area, according to the Peoria County Sheriff’s Office. Locations in Hanna City included the 400 block of N. Lakeshore Drive, the 200 block of N. Runkle St., and two in the 300 block of N. Phil Gould Drive. All incidents were reported the morning of July 21. One Phil Gould Drive resident reported three vehicles burglarized, according to the sheriff’s office. Galva’s Freedom Fest is among the many local events scheduled for the July 4 weekend. The three-day Freedom Fest culminates Monday, July 4, with a fireworks show at dusk by Pyrotecnico at the Galva Park District. Darren Bailey (R-Xenia) won the Republican gubernatorial primary held Tuesday. With 58 percent of the vote counted, Bailey led a crowded Republican field with 56.9 percent of the vote. Jesse Sullivan was at 15.9 percent and Richard Irvin was running third at 15.5 percent. Farmington raises meal prices

Among those were increasing meal prices: $2.75 for Pre-K to Grade 8 lunch; $2.95 for high school lunch; 35 cents for milk; $1.90 for breakfast. The board also approved Inter-State Studios as district photographer, a Physical Restraint and Isolation Reduction Plan, Mobex Laboratory for on-site testing and Heart Technologies for technology services. Landon Rice of Princeville assumed the part-time position in mid-June, according to Village Trustee Teresa Gilroy. She leads the committee that oversees the village-owned swimming facility, located at 620 Princeville Ave. Rice is heading into his senior year at Knox College in Galesburg, where he is a defensive lineman on the football team.
