10-24 – Leianne Fabry, 62, Galva, was arrested for fleeing to elude, improper lane change and failure to signal when required. She posted her driver’s license as bond and was released with a court date to appear.
10-26 – Jose E. Valladares, 47, Del Rio, Texas, was cited for speeding 69 mph in a 55 zone and for driving with no insurance. He was issued a court date to appear.
10-29 – Heather M. Frykman, Kewanee, reported that her mother’s 1971 Hi-Lo Travel camping trailer had been stolen from a rural location where it had been parked near Osceola. The incident remains under investigation.

Officer dispatched:


10-24 – to speak with two intoxicated pedestrians in the 700 block of W. Division St.who were walking home from a night out. They made it home with no issues.
10-24 – to the 700 block of NW 4th St. to assist a resident who had locked themselves out of the house.
10-24 – to meet with a subject at the Galva Police Department in reference to turning in a FOID card that had been suspended by the state.
10-24 – to watch for a Galva resident that had fled from Stark County and was involved in a vehicle pursuit. The subject was located and arrested by Stark County.
10-25 – to the 600 block of NW 4th St. for a suspicious person complaint. As a result, Leianne Fabry, 62, Galva, was issued an administrative warning ticket for disorderly conduct. She was cited and released.
10-25 – Officer noticed that the crossing arms were activated with no trains in sight at the Exchange St. railroad crossing. BNSF was contacted for repairs.
10-25 – to meet with a subject in the 300 block of NW 4th Ave. to answer several questions they had about a family member who was struggling with mental health issues.
10-26 – to assist Bureau County check for a vehicle taken without permission in the 300 block of SW 4th Ave. Vehicle was not located.
10-26 – to meet with a juvenile and parent at the Galva Police Department in reference to another parent confronting the child as they walked home from school.
10-26 – to the 200 block of NE 3rd St. to locate a wanted subject. As the result, Stephanie Snider, 33, Galva, was arrested on a Henry County warrant for failing to appear on the charges of driving while license suspended, no insurance, and disobeying a stop sign. She posted bond and was released with a new court date.
10-26 – to a residence on NE 2nd St. in reference to a suicidal subject.
10-26 – to the 300 block of SE 6th Ave. for a loud-noise complaint.
10-26 – to the 300 block of SW 4th Ave. for a suspicious activity complaint. An unknown person had reportedly turned a vehicle’s headlights on when it was parked in the yard.
10-27 – to meet with a resident at the Galva Police Department to conduct fingerprinting for a possible job opportunity.
10-27 – to the 500 block of NW 8th St. for a parking complaint.
10-27 – to the 00 block of SE 2nd Ave. for a complaint involving a cat with a bag stuck on its head. The bag was removed.
10-28 – to the 300 block of Market St. in reference to an unknown dog that had been dropped off. The dog was impounded.
10-28 – to the 600 block of NW 1st Ave. for a slow-moving vehicle inspection.
10-28 – to a residence on NW 8th St. for a mental-health crisis.
10-28 – Officer was notified about a controlled burn taking place in the 300 block of NE 9th St.
10-28 – to a residence on NW 7th St. for a person being combative.
10-30 – to the 00 block of SW 4th St. for a welfare check. The subject had fallen and was taken by ambulance.
10-30 – As the result of a traffic stop in the 500 block of SE 2nd St., April Plemmons, 39, Galva, was arrested for operating a vehicle with suspended registration, and not having any insurance. She was released with a required court date.
10-25 – Thomas Neufcour, 30, Bradford, was issued citations for not having valid insurance and having unsafe vehicle equipment in the 900 block of SE 2nd Street.
10-28 – Jayesh Patel, 52, Hanover Park, was issued a citation for speeding in a school zone in the 1000 block of N. Center Ave.
10-30 – Kessler Klopfenstein, 23, Kewanee, was issued a citation for failure to secure new registration upon moving from out of state in the 1000 block of N Center Ave.

Combine damaged
LaFAYETTE – A combine valued at $30,000 was damaged after it caught fire while a farmer was using it to harvest soybeans north of LaFayette.
The blaze was reported about 2 p.m. Oct. 17 at a farm in the 2800 block of E. Knox Rd., according to the Knox County Sheriff’s Office. Randy Hagerty, the farmer who was operating the early-1990s John Deere 9500 combine, reported hearing a loud pop from the engine.
Hagerty attempted to extinguish the flames, but they engulfed the combine and winds spread the fire to an adjacent harvested field, a sheriff’s-office report stated. Firefighters from Bishop Hill, Galva and LaFayette responded and doused the blaze.
On board the combine were about 225 bushels of soybeans valued at $5,000. Hagerty was uninjured.
