Incidents & Accidents
Stark County
1-25 – A two-vehicle accident occurred on East Main Street near the Miller Street intersection. According to the accident report driver Max E. Schelkopf, 28, Elmwood, was traveling east on Main Street when James S. Beer, 76, of Toulon, attempted to pull into the Casey General Store parking lot and was struck. No injuries were reported and no tickets were issued. Vehicle damages were estimated at over $1,500.
1-28 – A two-vehicle accident occurred on Mallard Street near the intersection of Seventh Street, in Wyoming. Drivers involved were Sherry L. LaPayne, 57, Wyoming, and Jill A. Stottler, 46, of Princeville. No injuries were reported and no tickets were issued. Damages were estimated at over $1,500.
1-22 – Tanner W. Hall, 28, Toulon, was issued a notice to appear for operating a vehicle without insurance.
1-26 – Mikeala S. Seroka, 34, Victoria, was cited for speeding 77 mph in a 55 zone, and illegal transportation of adult use cannabis in a vehicle.
1-27 – Jacob N. Wells, 20, Peoria, was arrested and charged with illegal transportation of alcohol, speeding 78 mph in a 55 zone, possession of cannabis between 500 and 2,000 grams, possession of a controlled substance between 100 and 400 grams and possession of a controlled substance between 100 and 400 grams with intent to deliver. The following day he posted $1,000 cash bond and was released with a court date to appear.
1-27 – James A. Gross, 34, Post Falls, Idaho, was cited for improper lane usage, driving without vehicle insurance, driving while his license was suspended and illegal transportation of adult cannabis in a vehicle. Unable to post $500 cash bond, he remains in custody at the Stark County Jail.
1-28 – Joshua G. Wells, 27, Peoria, was arrested by Stark County authorities on a Bureau County warrant for aggravated battery.
1-29 – Latricia S. Runles, 45, Peoria, was arrested for driving an uninsured vehicle, improper vehicle lighting and for driving on a suspended registration. She posted $250 cash bond and was released with a court date to appear.
Galva Report
Officer dispatched:

1-24 – to the 1200 block of NW 3rd Ave. for a theft complaint.
1-24 – to the 600 block of SW 4th Ave. for a loose dog complaint. The owner also responded and took the dog back home.
1-24 – Officer flagged down by a citizen in reference to a vehicle being driven without permission.
1-24 – to a residence in the 400 block of NW 11th St. to deliver a message for the Galesburg Police Department.
1-24 – to a vehicle vs. power pole accident in the 1000 block of SE 2nd St. Ameren was contacted for repairs.
1-26 – to the 500 block of SW 6th Ave. for a burglary and theft complaint.
1-27 – to a disturbance in the 00 block of SW 4th St. While investigating this complaint, the officer saw a wanted subject walking in the area. As a result, Rebecca Muckey, 33, Galva, was arrested on warrants: from Knox County for driving while license suspended, from Stark County for resisting a peace officer, and from Warren County for operating an uninsured vehicle. She was taken to the Henry County Jail.
1-27 – to an out-of-control juvenile complaint in the 300 block of NE 2nd St.
1-27 – to the 500 block of SW 3rd Ave. to meet with a subject who surrendered his FOID card to police.
1-27 -to Bonham Road. just west of Galva for a road-rage incident. Henry County also responded and handled the complaint.
1-28 – to a residence on SE 4th Ave. for a welfare check. The subject was found deceased. The Henry County Coroner was contacted.
1-28 – to the 00 block of SE 5th St. for a power wire that had been pulled down by a passing semi truck. Ameren was contacted for repairs.
1-29 – to a residence just east of Galva on Route 34 for a welfare check. The subject was fine.
1-29 – As the result of a traffic stop in the 1000 block of SW 2nd St., Clayton Tolle, 22, Galesburg, was arrested on a Mercer County warrant for nonconsensual dissemination of sex images. He was taken to the Henry County Jail
1-30 – to check on a suspicious vehicle in the 400 block of NE 2nd St.
1-30 – to check on two intoxicated subjects walking home in the 200 block of N. Center Ave.
1-30 – to Wiley Park to assist a citizen who believed they locked their keys in a vehicle. The keys were found in their coat pocket.
1-30 – While patrolling, officer noticed that all Galva railroad crossings were blocked by a stopped train. BNSF was contacted and the train eventually moved along.
1-30 – As the result of a traffic stop in the 100 block of NE 4th St. Madison Palmer, 20, Galva, was arrested for driving while license suspended and no rear license plate light. She was released with a required court date.
1-24 -Jacquelinn Mitchell, 40, Wonder Lake, Ill., was issued a citation for operating an uninsured vehicle in the 800 block of SE 2nd St.
1-28 – Brett Hallock, 32, Kewanee, was issued a citation for no insurance in the 300 block of SE 2nd St.
1-30 – Joel Brewster, 49, Galva, was issued a citation for speeding in the 900 block of N. Center Ave.
1-30 – David Mock, 18, LaFayette, was issued a citation for speeding in the 1000 block of N. Center Ave.
1-30 – Charles Day, 58, Milwaukee, Wis., was issued a citation for speeding in the 600 block of S. Center Ave.
