Stark County
6-4 – Accident Correction: The Stark County Sheriff’s Office released corrected information from a traffic accident reported last week that misidentified the driver. The deer-related accident that occurred on Route 93 at the intersection of 1100E involved driver James E. Stotler, 50, of Bradford.
6-8 – Colton J. Potter, 29, Toulon, was arrested for criminal trespass and disorderly conduct. He was taken into custody and transported to the Stark County Jail. The following day he was released from custody and issued a court date to appear.
6-11 – Ryan C. Snider, 41, Wyoming, was ticketed for driving without a valid registration.
5-11 – The Stark County Sheriff’s Office received a report of possible criminal damage to property from the Henry County Sheriff’s Department which involved a vehicle. The incident remains under investigation.
6-12 – Ismael Martinez, Jr., 66, of rural Toulon, reported his red 2002 Chevy S10 pickup truck had been stolen from his residence. At 11:15 a.m. a Stark County sheriff’s deputy located an unoccupied truck fitting the stolen vehicle description at 1550N and 700E. The truck had struck a tree and reportedly caught on fire. The incident remains under investigation.

6-7 – to the 00 block of NE 8th Street for a trash-dumping complaint.
6-7 – to a residence on SE 2nd Ave. to check the welfare of a subject breaking items.
6-7 – to the 100 block of Market Street to meet a citizen who had located money in a bank envelope. The bank was able to locate the owner through a receipt and the money was returned to the rightful owner.
6-7 – to the 600 block of NW 1st Ave. for a burning complaint. Officer explained the burning ordinance and the resident put the fire out.
6-7 – to the 00 block of James B. Young Road for a theft complaint.
6-7 – to the 300 block of NE 2nd Street for a domestic battery complaint. Charges are pending.
6-8 – Officer was flagged down in the 100 block of NE 6th Ave. in reference to a found Illinois license plate. Officer returned the license plate to its registered owner.
6-8 – to the 800 block of West Division Street for a city ordinance violation involving a swimming pool without a required fence. The owner advised the fence had been taken down in order to fill the pool.
6-8 – to meet with a resident in the 200 block of Front Street in reference to counterfeit currency.
6-9 – to a residence on NW 4th Street to check the welfare of a young child. They were fine.
6-9 – Officer went to the 100 block of South Center Ave. to locate a wanted subject. As the result, Howard Field, 75, Galva, was arrested on a Henry County warrant for failing to appear on numerous traffic offenses. He was given a notice to appear in court and released.
6-10 – to the intersection of Chester Street and NE 1st Street to a two-vehicle accident with damage only involving a car and motorcycle. A crash report was completed.
6-10 – to Route 34 in reference to a traffic complaint involving a motorcycle speeding.
6-11 – to the 300 block of Front Street in reference to a bat flying inside a residence. Resident was referred to a wildlife removal service.
6-11 – Officer met with a subject in the 800 block of NE 2nd Street to serve as a civil standby while they returned a lawn mower they purchased.
6-11 – to the 600 block of NW 4th Street for a domestic dispute involving a mother and daughter.
6-12 – Officer spoke with a subject on NW 7th Ave. in reference to an unwanted subject who was threatening to show up.
6-12 – Officer attempted to make a traffic stop in the 200 block of SW 3rd Street, but the vehicle fled at a high rate of speed. Officer recognized the driver so he terminated the pursuit shortly after it started. After locating the driver later, a 17-year-old Galva resident was charged with six counts of disobeying a stop sign, speeding over the statutory limit, operating an uninsured vehicle, no valid driver’s license, aggravated fleeing or attempting to elude a police officer and reckless driving.
6-13 – to the 500 block of SE 1st Ave. for a verbal domestic dispute to remove an unwanted subject.
6-13 – Christabel Fash, 43, of Homer Glen, Ill. was issued a citation for speeding in the 800 block of SE 2nd Street.­­­
