After seeing league leaders Annawan and Kewanee Wethersfield eliminated in the quarterfinals, two of the LTC’s upper echelon this year reached semifinal games : Princeville and Monmouth United. And both were eliminated last week before reaching the finals. United fell to Abingdon-Avon on Feb. 26 in the Class 1A Galva Regional, 46-37. Elmwood to ban parking, hires new employee

The council agreed to ban parking on South Lilac Street during the Illinois Department of Transportation [IDOT] construction project. Also, a new employee was hired for the water and street department. Parking on South Lilac Street will be prohibited from approximately May until late Fall while IDOT constructs a new Route 78 bridge west of Elmwood. Damage from Princeville fire could top $500,000 PRINCEVILLE – Police and the Akron Princeville Fire Department, assisted by the Dunlap Fire Department were called to a fire on Feb. 12 after one of the building owners saw “heavy smoke coming from the Country Feed & Supply store” located in the 100 block of E.
