ICAC selects all-conference basketball team
By Weekly Post Staff Brimfield senior Luke Groeper and Elmwood junior Andrew Marincic were voted to the six-player ICAC All-Conference boys basketball team. Also picked for the first team were junior MacArthur Briggs of Delavan, senior Jacob Schleich of North Fulton and Peoria Christian senior Daniel Duncan and junior Wes Hunt. Seniors Adam Centers and Luke Hoffmann of Elmwood were both second-team selections, as was sophomore Graham Wight of ROWVA-Williamsfield. Farmers, Princes, Trojans all win By JEFF LAMPE For The Weekly Post GALESBURG – Fourth down plays decided a hard-hitting season opener between the Farmington and Knoxville football teams Saturday. Three times Farmington quarterback Josh McMillin managed to complete touchdown passes on fourth-down plays to account for his team’s scoring. And with the game on the line, Farmington’s defense stopped Knoxville on fourth-and-three from the Farmington 26-yard line with under a minute left to preserve a 20-14 win. Carlson coached his 700th varsity game last Friday in a 59-41 season-ending loss to Knoxville. Barn fires spread to Hanna City home HANNA CITY – Logan-Trivoli Firefighters responded to a reported barn fire at 14326 W Smithville Road in rural Hanna City on March 9 at 3:17 p.m. Upon arrival, firefighters found three barns on fire and the house catching fire. The owner of the property is Scott Turbett. Logan-Trivoli Fire Assistant Fire Chief Chris Matzke said firefighters fought winds gusting in excess of 30 mph to extinguish the exterior of the house and the three barns.
